Sessions are usually 55 minutes. Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule/cancel an appointment. This allows me to offer that spot to someone else and avoids you/the client paying late cancellation fees.
Giving less than 48 hours’ notice or failure to show up will result in a cancellation fee.
More than 48 hours no charge. More than 24 hours but less than 48 hours - 50% of the session fee. Less than 24 hours or not turning up for a booked session will result in 100% of the session fee being charged.
Cancellation fees do not attract a rebate from either private health insurance companies nor from Medicare.
FEES
Fees are payable at the time of your consultation. With Telehealth payment can be made by credit or Visa debit card. All psychologists set their own fees. My fees are less than the APS/AAPi recommended fee.
REBATES
Under certain circumstances you may be able to claim some of the consultation fee back as a rebate from either your private health insurance fund OR from Medicare under the Government’s ‘Better Access to Mental Health Care’ initiative. The latter requires you obtain a referral from your
GP (or psychiatrist) prior to your session.
With the referral, under 'Better Access', you can usually claim back up to 10 rebates in a calendar year. The first referral letter will usually provide the rebate on up to 6 sessions. We do a review in the 6th session (or last session if sooner). If more sessions are required, you return to your referring doctor to seek a new referral for futher sessions. Jo will track this and let you know when you need to do this.
The rebates are usually slightly increased
by the Government on the 1st November (although there was one on 1st July 2023)
each year. Jo usually passes this
increased rebate on to her clients.
When face-to-face, under certain circumstances, and if applicable, your Medicare rebate can be processed electronically for you on the spot
at the time of your session.
